Position: Part-Time / Flexibility
Reports to: Managing Director
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
* Take full ownership of financial leadership, promoting company values and fostering a collaborative, accountable, and innovative culture.
* Partner strategically with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to provide insights and drive operational efficiency.
* Actively support decision-making with valuable financial insights and challenges.
* Oversee all aspects of the finance function, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
* Maintain robust financial controls and manage overheads, adhering to budgets and recommending corrective actions.
* Lead the period-end financial close process and oversee treasury activities, including cash management and forex.
* Manage accounts payable/receivable processes to improve working capital.
* Support periodic forecasting, planning, and annual budgeting.
* Collaborate with external advisors, including accountants and tax specialists.
Finance Team:
* Establish efficient, consistent standards and processes within the finance function.
* Coach and develop finance team members, encouraging continuous improvement.
* Optimise reporting processes using production management systems and Excel.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience as a Financial Manager with a track record of driving accuracy and efficiency.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Hands-on experience within a small finance team.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage non-finance colleagues.
* Analytical mindset with attention to detail and the bigger picture.
* Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) with at least 10 years' post-qualification experience.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Experience in owner-managed businesses.
* Familiarity with import/export processes and postponed import VAT regimes.
* Knowledge of Progress Plus and SAGE 50 software.
