Job description
Pembrokeshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Social Worker to join our Adult Mental Health and AMHP Team. Bro Cerwyn CMHT serves as the hub for our dynamic team, committed to providing high-quality mental health services to the citizens of Pembrokeshire. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and will work effectively as both a team player and on their own initiative.
Position Overview
As an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), you will play a crucial role in conducting Mental Health Act Assessments for Pembrokeshire citizens. Working collaboratively with a fast-paced team of AMHPs and Mental Health Social Workers, you will be responsible for responding to assessments in both community and hospital settings. The role involves participating in the duty rota, completing 117 reviews, and fulfilling other duties as required.
You will be actively involved in safeguarding some of the most vulnerable service users in the County and use Social Services and Wellbeing Care Act legislation to commission Care Packages and Placements for service users.
In return for your hard work, you will have access to both managerial and clinical supervision and will have the support of the Team Leaders in the service, as well as attending social care forums.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct Mental Health Act Assessments based on recent examples and references within the last five years.
* Respond promptly to Mental Health Act Assessments in various settings.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure the efficient delivery of mental health services.
* Provide regular updates on activities and progress to the Service Manager and Team Manager.
* Complete 117 reviews and other assigned duties as needed.
* Champion the Social Model within secondary mental health.
* Flexibility to work beyond standard hours, particularly for assessments that extend past 17:00.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified and experienced Approved Mental Health Professional.
* Registration with Social Care Wales.
* Demonstrated experience in conducting Mental Health Act Assessments within the last five years.
