Clinical Nurse Specialist for Nutrition - Broomfield Site

Broomfield Hospital has a wonderful opportunity for a new or experienced Nutrition CNS to join our supportive and dynamic team for 1 year - fixed term.
You will be required to lead and develop a team of staff, promoting the development of advanced nursing and teaching skills, ensuring the team is dedicated to delivering excellent standards of nutritional care throughout the patient's journey.
You will need to be visionary and dynamic in driving the team forward in a rapidly changing environment as you are required to liaise closely with other departments within the Trust, acting as an effective leader both professionally and managerially for all members of nursing staff and maintaining and developing high standards of care while planning and implementing ward-based and directorate teaching programs, assessing the training needs of nursing staff in conjunction with the Practice Education Facilitator Team.
Main duties of the job
Your role is to develop all staff to communicate effectively with members of the multi-disciplinary team, patients, and families and be responsible for the overall management of the ward and to be a point of contact for all ward staff as necessary.
Participate in policy and service development by working alongside the divisional clinical governance and operational team ensuring that all policies and protocols in the ward are current, suitable, and safe to provide care and services to our service users.
Plan duty rotas to ensure the most effective utilization of nursing time. Coordinate annual leave entitlement. Effectively manage skill mix within staffing budget.
Be proactive in leading the team with information governance and ensuring the security of patients' data and that all staff adhere to their mandatory training in governance and confidentiality.
Proactively follow incidents and investigations via the online systems and work closely with our valued governance facilitators.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with significant experience in a senior Band 6 position
* PEG and NG training competencies
* Evidence of CPD in a relevant field e.g., Nutrition, Dietetics.
Skills & Knowledge
* Organizational skills
* Experience working within an acute ward environment managing patients with complex nutritional requirements.
Management vision
* Awareness of clinical governance
* Ward Management Experience
* Experience in teaching new skills
