Are you a skilled Quality Engineer in Precision Machining, looking for a new challenge?
Chirton Engineering is expanding into new markets, seeking talented individuals to join their team. As a Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring that products meet customer expectations and company standards. This includes monitoring quality standards, implementing improvements, creating documentation, devising quality tests, and defining acceptance criteria.

At Chirton Engineering, we design, manufacture, and service bespoke equipment, vessels, precision components, and remote handling systems, alongside providing specialist engineering services in the Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas, Motorsport, Pharmaceutical, and Renewable industries. With over 120 years of experience, we provide industry-leading services to our long-standing customers.

Hours of Work & Pay & Benefits
* 5-day working week - Monday to Friday, 42 hours per week, with an early finish on Friday.
* £37K per annum
* Up to 12 weeks company sick pay.
* On-site gym.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monitor and review quality processes, playing a key role in driving continuous improvement.
2. Oversee supply chain to ensure materials/items meet specifications and address any non-conformances.
3. Review project documentation in accordance with client specified requirements and the internal quality management system.
4. Report and review non-conformances, conducting root-cause analysis and implementing preventative actions.
5. Ensure quality standards are met and report potential issues or areas for improvement.
6. Work proactively within the quality department, sharing best practices and improvements.
7. Utilize Quality Risk Management tools to identify issues and propose preventative measures or procedure changes.
8. Maintain accurate quality documentation.
9. Conduct internal and supply chain audits to ensure compliance with specifications & standards.
10. Liaise with inspection and production personnel to ensure on-time deliveries through concurrent sign-offs and maintaining Lifetime Records.
11. Manage the calibration system to ensure concurrency is maintained.
12. Raise NCRs relating to customer returns, supplier/subcontractor issues, and internal issues.
What You Need for the Role
* Demonstrated experience in a machining background.
* Good analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and devise suitable preventative actions.
* Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, codes, and standards.
