Job summary 6 hours per week We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Christian faith chaplain to join the Chaplaincy team at TRFT. The Chaplaincy service provides a service of spiritual, religious and pastoral care to patients, relatives and staff within the TRFT. The Christian faith Chaplain role for in patients will include sharing responsibility for administering sacramental ministry when requested and dealing with peri-natal deaths and pregnancy loss. Active participation in the ecumenical Chaplaincy on-call rota. Due to the nature of the work undertaken within this role, there is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be an Ordained Anglican minister and eligible to hold Bishop of Sheffields licence to officiate OR a Minister of a member church of the Free Churches Group- Churches Together in England authorised by the ministers church authority OR a Catholic priest, in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church and suitable for nomination and mandating by the Bishop of Hallam. Excellent communication skills and the ability to respond to call outs and reach the Rotherham Hospital within an hour are essential requirements for the role. Experience in pastoral ministry including ministering to the dying and bereaved is essential as is previous experience of working in a health care environment. Main duties of the job To be available to support the chaplaincy team in providing a high standard service of spiritual and religious care to patients, relatives and staff within the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust and other areas that might be covered by service level agreements as and when needed. To contribute to the delivery of the Chaplaincy service to meet Trust objectives To visit inpatients within the hospital and Breathing Space To participate in the departmental Ecumenical on-call rota. To arrive at hospital site within 1 hour of receiving call out request.
