The arts form an important part of the day at Grace College in our curriculum lessons, co-curricular groups, individual instrumental and LAMDA lessons and celebration events. Music and Drama are an integral part of our events programme, including our annual Carol Service at the College and our Presentation Evening that takes place in the inspiring Hall One at The Glasshouse, Gateshead.
We are seeking a Head of Music. To be successful, you will be a highly skilled musician, teacher and leader who will deliver an outstanding curriculum, co-curricular provision and events programme, working with the Director of Arts and Events. An inspirational teacher, you will be able to teach at Key Stages 3 and 4, offering GCSE Music. In addition, you will lead on student recruitment and the development of instrumental and LAMDA teaching, inspiring young musicians to develop their playing and engage in our co-curricular ensembles.
The Create Arts department comprises a staff team teaching Music, Art and Drama, led by the Director of Art and Events for ESF Gateshead. In addition, we are privileged to work with an experienced team of self-employed instrumental and LAMDA teachers who provide instrumental lessons and speech and drama lessons for students across all years. We are well-equipped with three recently refurbished art spaces, as well as a drama classroom and music classroom which is fully equipped with computers and keyboards. The department has established a firm tradition of expert classroom teaching, as well as a well-respected and varied co-curricular and events programme that supports student leadership and character development. We are supported by a forward-thinking senior team that values the arts and the opportunities for student leadership and character education. We are at an exciting stage in our arts development and are looking for an inspiring teacher and leader to join us.
