The main objective of this role is to internalise the accounting for a portfolio of entities, ensuring effective day-to-day management accounting processes. Additionally, the role will offer vital commercial support to stakeholders, assisting with enhancing financial efficiency and driving strategic growth across the group.
You will be responsible for:
Daily Tasks:
* Post and reconcile bank transactions, and report bank balances to the Leadership team.
* Generate sales invoices for each project upon receipt of payment certificates, ensuring correct application of retentions and VAT.
* Check staff expense submissions.
Weekly Tasks:
* Update the cash flow forecast with actual figures.
Monthly Tasks:
* Reconcile balance sheets.
* Produce management accounts in collaboration with the Finance Manager.
* Prepare VAT returns.
Ongoing Responsibilities:
* Assist the Finance Manager with the production of cash flow and P&L forecasts.
* Work closely with the Finance Manager and Finance Director to identify and suggest improvements for weaknesses in the accounts systems and processes.
* Develop a strong understanding of business requirements by building relationships with colleagues and striving to meet their needs.
* Collaborate with other finance and commercial colleagues to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
* Demonstrate and promote behaviours that support Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, treating all stakeholders with dignity and respect.
* Undertake company projects as required, maintaining up-to-date knowledge on relevant changes and developments.
* Share best practices and promote continuous improvement and innovation.
* Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, processes, and tools.
* Complete relevant training required for the role.
