Sales & Membership Development Representative Lewes, East Sussex £30,000 base salary OTE commission Full-time, Permanent Job Summary Our client is seeking a confident, motivated and engaging individual to join their team as a Sales & Membership Development Representative, based in Lewes, East Sussex. This office-based role plays a vital part in driving growth through converting Guild membership leads and developing new B2B sales opportunities for the companies extensive book range. Youll work closely with the Marketing Director and the UK-wide sales team, focusing on lead conversion, customer engagement, and building business relationships. Sales experience is not essential as they're looking for someone with great communication skills, a professional manner, and a results-focused mindset. Full training and support will be provided. Key Responsibilities Membership Engagement & Lead Conversion Engage with inbound Guild membership leads, offering clear and helpful advice on the benefits of joining. Build rapport and trust with business owners and decision-makers to increase membership conversion rates. Work towards defined monthly and weekly targets, with performance monitored and supported. Manage lead follow-ups efficiently to maximise conversion opportunities. Book Sales & B2B Development Generate new business-to-business opportunities to sell GMCs catalogue of over 4,000 titles, including up to 80 new releases each month. Identify and engage with relevant retail, craft, and niche sector businesses to promote and sell their publications. Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with trade contacts to support long-term sales growth. Align with national campaigns and promotions, coordinating efforts with the wider sales team. Collaboration & Strategy Alignment Work closely with the Marketing Director to ensure messaging and outreach strategies are consistent and effective. Share feedback and insights from customer interactions to inform future marketing and sales activity. Stay up to date with book launches, industry trends, and membership initiatives. Reporting & Communication Maintain accurate records of lead activity, conversion progress, and sales performance. Submit a weekly Sales & Membership Report detailing activity and outlining plans for the week ahead. Provide regular updates to the line manager, flagging successes, challenges, and opportunities as they arise. Key Skills & Qualities Required Strong communication skills able to engage confidently and professionally via phone, video call, and email. A positive and personable approach, with the ability to speak comfortably with a wide range of business owners. Motivated and target-driven, with a strong focus on achieving results and meeting conversion goals. Organised and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple conversations, leads, and reporting tasks. Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM or sales systems is a bonus, but not essential.
