The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Deputy Group Car Parking Manager to work as part of the parking team for the Royal Free Group.
The parking team manages the car parks and all queries regarding parking on our sites from staff, visitors, contractors, and the public. This includes the management of long- and short-term permits, parking payments, PCN appeals, and complaints. We aim to provide timely responses and excellent customer service at all times, facilitating access to our sites for staff and service users.
The post holder will support the Group Car Parking Manager with the delivery of a high-quality car parking service across all sites including the Royal Free, Barnet, and Chase Farm Hospitals. They will be expected to visit all sites under the control of the parking service and provide management oversight for the Parking Team, checking their work is being carried out to a high standard and supporting with any issues or development needs.
We are seeking a team player with a passion for customer service, an eye for detail, and who will uphold our values for the provision of a fair, equitable, and transparent service. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
As the key point of contact for the parking team, your role will be to oversee the administration of the service, monitoring responses, assisting the team in times of peak workload, and dealing with the escalation of more complex queries. You will also be required to travel across the sites, monitoring the safety and services provided by our team and contract partners and resolving issues as they arise.
You will deal with queries and process permit requests, parking exemptions, and penalty charge notices; following processes to ensure appropriate and fair decision-making regarding parking access and charges. You will also carry out regular compliance checks to ensure the service is being provided appropriately and deal with any issues of non-conformance or payment issues.
You will need to be customer service focused, communicating in a polite and friendly manner, and demonstrating tact and diplomacy when discussing the needs of the service user. You will interact with stakeholders using various forms of communication including face-to-face attendance at site inductions and drop-in sessions.
You will be working in a fast-paced service and will need to be able to prioritise tasks and manage the workload of yourself and your team accordingly.
