Main duties of the job
To provide a qualified clinical psychology service to patients being seen within the Paediatric Service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy while offering advice and consultation on patients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and other non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.

Job responsibilities
The main focus of the post will be to provide input to the haematology service for children living with Sickle Cell, both inpatients and outpatients, where you will be working as an embedded member of the multidisciplinary team. You will contribute to the wider team of clinical psychologists working in paediatrics, utilizing research skills for audit, policy and service development, and research across the areas served by the paediatric psychology service.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
1. Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
2. Registration with the HCPC as a clinical psychologist - domain of clinical psychology.
Desirable
1. Training and qualifications in a relevant field of applied psychology/research methodology.
EXPERIENCE
Essential
1. Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including children, young people and their families.
Desirable
1. Pre and/or post qualification experience of working in a paediatric psychology team.
2. Experience of the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts.
3. Experience of teaching, training and/or supervising.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Essential
1. Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
