As a Field Service Engineer, you will represent Howden worldwide and collaborate with our diverse pool of clients to provide technical assistance during: overhaul, repair, maintenance, fault finding, and installation and commissioning of steam turbines, reciprocating gas compressors, and gearboxes. You will provide full engineering service support for our customers and develop exceptional customer relationships through technical capability and personal interaction. This is an international role and will require travel.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
* Overhaul, repair, and maintain Howden steam turbines and gas compressors and gearboxes.
* Deliver high technical and professional service to customers, focusing on safety and quality.
* Aim to achieve on time in full, to schedule, and right first time.
* Provide detailed Site Reports that highlight actions needed and seek opportunities for improvement.
* Supervise the activities of Company or Customer supplied Technicians, ensuring their day-to-day safety, site activities, and discipline. Follow health and safety procedures and complete required Risk Assessments.
Your Professional Experience Should Be…
* Knowledge of site maintenance and repair of Steam Turbines and Reciprocating Compressors.
* Ability to develop and manage good customer relationships.
* Demonstrable experience with a strong focus on health and safety.
* Ability to supervise others during complex installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
* Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
* Experience working on international assignments, including in non-English speaking environments.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to produce detailed technical documents including risk assessments, site reports, root cause analysis, method statements, scopes of work, and project plans.
* Desirable skills include knowledge of site installation and commissioning of Steam Turbines and Reciprocating Compressors, with training provided if required.
* Previous experience working offshore is a plus.
