Assistant Accountant - Reading - 15 month contract - £30.000 - £35.000 - Hybrid
The role of the Assistant Accountant is responsible for all purchase ledger transactions for the Group. You will work with other members of finance and the wider business to ensure the transactions of the business runs smoothly.
Role Responsibilities
* Processing purchase invoices
* Creating purchase orders and maintaining the Purchase Order register
* Reconcile vendor account balances to vendor statements
* Group payment runs
* Make payments and post payment journals for the Group
* Reviewing expense claims in a timely manner and ensuring that they comply with the company expense policy
* Raise transfer pricing invoices
* Post ad-hoc journals where required
* Assist with month end processes
* Support with transactional element of audits
* Support the team with ad-hoc projects
* Respond to ad-hoc queries
Required Skills & Experience
Must have:
* Basic Excel knowledge
* Basic double entry knowledge
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable:
* Previous experience in accounts payable
* Knowledge of UK VAT rules
