This teaching assistant role will involve working in the Special Resource Base supporting pupils with ALN such as autism, down syndrome, and global delay. You will offer a variety of support including academic, social, and emotional. Your aim as a teaching assistant is to help pupils overcome any barriers they may be facing to achieve the best possible outcomes. This provision provides support to small group learning across the whole curriculum. These groups are arranged by stage of learning rather than age, based on social communicative ability.
The SRB has a designated area of the school site with its own entrance. The classrooms are designed with autism-friendly principles, which include access to outdoor space and an abundance of natural light. The SRB supports the development of life skills to help prepare pupils for independence as an adult. The multi-purpose sensory room is designed to support pupils with a variety of specific needs and provides a calming space for those who require it.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
