Woodford Church of England Primary School is a growing primary school with over 110 pupils from aged 2-11. There is a purposeful, calm atmosphere in the school where children have fun but are expected to work hard and learn new skills. The children are incredibly well behaved and are supported by a hard-working team of teachers, assistant teachers and other members of the support team. The Role
Woodford C of E Primary School are looking to recruit a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant/ Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join the team. You need to be patient, hard-working and have high expectations for yourself and pupils. The post holder’s prime duties will be assisting the teacher with day-to-day work and helping to deliver learning programmes for individuals and small groups. A commitment to the life of the school is vital! School tours are encouraged.
We are looking for one individual to cover both roles.
Key Tasks:
* To complement our fantastic teachers' delivery of the national curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, pupils and school policies and strategies.
* Provide for the social, emotional and personal development of a pupil with additional need
* Promote the involvement of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school
* Enable pupils to become more independent learners
* Help raise standards of achievement for pupils
* To provide support for pupils, the teacher, and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all, by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes, and to encourage pupils to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare, and to support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life.
* The role will be a combination of PPA cover, interventions, class support and cover for classes.
About You
You will need:
* Higher Level Teaching Assistant Status or an equivalent qualification;
* Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, equivalent to GCSE grade C in English and Maths;
* A good standard written and spoken English;
* Experience of working across the primary age range within a school environment including intervention groups and whole class teaching
* Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
* A clear understanding of the National Curriculum
