Senior EIA Consultant
Role Purpose
This role will be to take a lead on Environmental Impact Assessment matters in Manchester, working as part of the UK Planning team. CBRE's growing UK Planning team is now over 70 headcount-strong, combining town planning experts, development surveyors, and planning viability and public funding specialists.
Key Responsibilities
1. Day-to-day EIA project management and coordination
2. Lead author and editor of Environmental Statements
3. Attending meetings with clients, design teams, local authorities and statutory and non-statutory consultees
4. Assisting with business development, with a focus on supporting the CBRE UK Planning team, as well as building relationships with external clients
5. Assisting with preparation of fee proposals
6. Assisting with forecasting, invoicing, disbursements and bad debts
7. Assisting with the training and development of existing junior team members
8. Communicate industry knowledge back to the ESG team and wider business
Person Specification/Requirements
1. Educated to at least degree level in environmental science or a related subject
2. EIA consultancy experience
3. Demonstrable track record in delivering proportionate EIA on complex sites across the UK
4. Membership of a relevant professional body, such as IEMA
5. Detailed knowledge of the EIA process and UK EIA Regulations, as well as the planning system
6. Exceptional written and oral communication skills: articulate, assertive and confident
7. Ability to engage and educate a diverse set of stakeholder groups including project teams and design/construction/real estate professionals
8. Detail-oriented: Strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn more and a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven team environment
