Flagship Service Watchmaker
(Permanent, Full-Time)
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
We manufacture timepieces to last for generations. To this end, the service of timepieces is a critical part of the value chain we offer to our customers. The Flagship Service Watchmaker of A. Lange & Söhne is entrusted to perform complete service of Lange’s standard movements and watch cases in Flagship Boutique London while achieving the best-in-class diagnosis and interventions. As a member of Lange watchmakers, they also participate in brand’s regional events, demonstrate their watchmaking skills and knowledge in front of an audience, and work closely with the Boutique team. They are responsible for daily maintenance of the watchmaker’s workshop and will uphold the legacy of top-notch excellence that defines the brand.
* Perform complete services following A. Lange & Söhne technical and quality standards.
* Carry out authorized overhaul and repair interventions of standard calibers including:
o Complete Service with disassembly and assembly of movement
o Regulation of the movement
o Encasing the watch
o Independent error analysis and troubleshooting
o Watch case polishing (no laser welding)
* Provide clear, concise service explanation and immediate diagnosis to the boutique teams.
o Speaking directly with clients in the boutiques is not a part of Flagship Service Watchmaker’s responsibilities
* Execute on-the-spot strap, bracelet and buckle exchanges.
CUSTOMER SERVICE OPERATIONS
* Collaborate with the Retail Operations Coordinator as well as the boutique teams to maintain accurate customer service and client data in SAP, B7 and iCM.
* Manage workshop tools, equipment and spare parts inventory to meet the brand and Group safety, security and legal standards and audit requirements of the Boutique workshop.
* Discuss solutions to client complaints and recurring issues with the boutique teams. Provide timely reports to the ALS Deputy Director Manufactory to prevent future incidents.
* Review productivity metrics, recurring technical issues, and service opportunities to optimize operations.
BRAND REPRESENTATION
* Represent and promote the brand at regional events, showcasing Lange watchmaking skills and sharing insights about Lange’s craftsmanship.
* Maintain a professional appearance and friendly, courteous behaviour aligned with Lange Retail Manual at boutiques and events.
CONTINUOUS LEARNING AND IMPROVEMENT
* Contribute to customer service reviews by analyzing demands, costs, processes, proposing improvements to enhance efficiency.
* Participate in brand and Richemont-led training and stay up to date with technical upgrades, new products and service policy changes.
* Build strong relationships with the flagship boutique team. Act flexibly to support their client’s needs and boutique operations.
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?
* Completed vocational training and above-average technical watchmaking skills in the field of production, assembly and regulation of mechanical watches
* Fluency in English; German or French is a plus
* Able to learn and work with systems (e.g. SAP, B7- ERP system) accurately and efficiently
* Highly motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and independence
* Proactive, sociable and positive attitude towards colleagues and clients; a team player.
* Social competence such as empathy and communication skills to conduct entertaining conversation with end clients at ease
* Patience and perseverance, analytical and solution-oriented thinking
* Presentation skills to deliver watchmaking workshops and conduct caliber assembly demonstration in front of clients
* Organized and efficient for day-to-day operations
