Engineering Maintenance Planner - Dunman
As an Engineering Maintenance Planner, you will play an integral part in the delivery of the vision for the Engineering Function, a team dedicated to providing best-in-class engineering support to the manufacturing operation. The Engineering Maintenance Planner is responsible for the efficient planning and scheduling of all non-emergency maintenance work. Working closely with the Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams, the Engineering Maintenance Planner will create robust maintenance plans, build the structures within the planned maintenance system, and generate KPIs on relevant data within the department.
This role is an important new role for the Engineering Team at Dunman, and the initial 6-12 months will involve working with other stakeholders to develop and fully implement the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Shift Pattern: 9am-5pm Monday to Friday with a level of flexibility when required.
Duties will include:
As an Engineering Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for:
* Adopting a safety-first approach when planning all maintenance work.
* Adherence to site safety, food safety, and quality processes and procedures.
* Efficiently planning, scheduling, and controlling the workflow of all non-urgent maintenance from origination through to assignment.
* Developing, implementing, and maintaining the site CMMS.
* Coordinating parts, equipment availability, and time of maintenance engineers and third-party contractors for the development of robust maintenance plans.
* Liaising with supply chain, production, and quality organizations to achieve maintenance whilst minimizing the impact to output and quality of product.
* Ensuring the engineering and production team are properly informed of all abnormal situations arising from planned work and seek advice where appropriate.
* Building and maintaining a recording system for storage of appropriate records and files resulting from maintenance work carried out, ensuring such files are always audit-ready.
* Developing and evolving engineering systems on site, including data capture and optimization of our preventative maintenance programme.
* Generating and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Engineering Department.
* Developing and managing the Engineering budget provision for fixed services.
* Developing and managing the fixed service contract register, coordinating all fixed service contract visits to site.
* Taking ownership of the Engineering Calibration Register, ensuring all relevant instruments are captured and that calibrations are kept up to date and correct.
* Planning and coordinating third-party statutory compliance inspections such as PSSR, LOLER, DSEAR, etc.
* Working closely with the engineering stores and purchasing function to ensure timely availability of spares and creation of kitted jobs.
* Developing and delivering shutdown plans by working closely with engineering managers, service providers, and other functions.
* Identifying opportunities for improving ways of working and working with the engineering team to optimize our maintenance strategies.
* Leading improvement projects relative to engineering systems and maintenance strategy optimization.
Specific Experience & Education
Required:
* Engineering degree, time-served apprenticeship, or similar relevant qualification.
* Previous experience in a maintenance or engineering role with a good understanding of mechanical and electrical components and systems.
* Highly organized with the ability to manage several work streams with conflicting priorities.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, possess tact, and the ability to negotiate maintenance needs in balance with other departmental requirements.
* Adequate on-the-tools knowledge to estimate man hours and materials for planned work.
* Strong IT skills with CMMS experience.
Desirable
* Experience working in a similar role.
* Experience developing and implementing a CMMS.
* Knowledge of compliance legislation and guidelines.
* Experience with ShireSystem / Pirana CMMS.
* Experience of working within the FMCG industry.
