We're looking for a Furniture Frame Assembler to join our fast paced Manufacturing team at our Lincoln House manufacturing site on a permanent basis. A Furniture Frame Assembler is a role to start building a rewarding career and making yourself at DFS. All DFS sofa frames are hand made in our manufacturing sites to ensure quality and will then pass through the factory until the product is complete. Our frame assemblers will take a number of different materials and assemble them using staples and glue to ensure a fixed structure. A high attention to detail is essential as is being comfortable using power tools. This role will give you the training opportunity to transfer your already established skills and hone them on to a new product. This role will require a high amount of heavy lifting. Shifts: This role will operate over our morning shift - Mon - Thu 06:00 - 13:50 Fri - 06:00 - 14:0 Salary: You will be paid an initial training rate until you are up to speed, you will then be paid piecework (so you will be rewarded for the more you make.) Use of hand tools, power tools, staples, and glue to securely fix parts together, ensuring a sturdy and durable structure. Follow detailed assembly instructions, blueprints, and diagrams to ensure frames are built to specifications and meet quality standards. Ensure the correct placement and alignment of frame components during assembly, including legs, supports, and armrests. Inspect frame components for any defects or damage before assembly, reporting any issues to the team leader. Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines. Handle heavy materials and furniture components, demonstrating the ability to lift and move large and bulky items safely. Work efficiently to meet production targets, maintaining quality and attention to detail throughout the process. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and the timely completion of frames for further production stages. Perform routine checks on tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition, and report any malfunctions. Participate in training opportunities to develop and enhance skills in frame assembly, power tool usage, and quality control. Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy to ensure the longevity and quality of the finished product. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting ideas for process efficiency or quality enhancements. This role requires physical strength, precision, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship.
