Role Overview:
Opus People Solutions on behalf of Shropshire Council is seeking a highly organized and motivated Administration Officer to join the council's dynamic administration team. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Administrator. This position involves supporting various functions within the council, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage incoming communications, including phone calls, emails, and correspondence.
2. Assist in the preparation and organization of meetings, including scheduling, agenda creation, and minute-taking.
3. Maintain accurate records and databases, ensuring all information is up to date and accessible.
4. Support the processing of documents and applications in line with council procedures.
5. Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive support across departments.
6. Assist with the planning and execution of council events and initiatives.
7. Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Qualifications:
1. Previous experience in an administrative role is desirable.
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
3. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
4. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. A proactive approach to problem-solving.
