The key responsibilities and duties of the Grinder include, but are not limited to:
1. To operate all types of grinding machines to fine limits
2. To be able to work unsupervised/ minimal supervision
3. To be able to read and understand technical drawings
4. To be able to work with cylindrical and surface grinding machines
5. An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company’s environmental procedures
6. You will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book
7. You may be required to train personnel with a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience
8. All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures
The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:
9. GCSE level or equivalent
10. Fluent in written and spoken English
11. Extensive experience with internal and external grinding machines
12. Cylindrical and surface grinding experience
13. CNC grinding knowledge preferred
14. Aerospace background preferred but not essential
15. Self-motivated with strong analytical skills
16. Effective communicator at all levels
17. Good planning, organisation, and admin skills; PC literate
18. Works well under pressure and makes sound decisions
19. Eager to learn and share knowledge
20. Strong team player focused on continuous improvement
Working Conditions
21. Flexible with hours, including occasional weekend overtime
22. Exposure to greases, oils, and manual handling
23. Use of hand/power tools, overhead cranes, and complex machinery
