Our role
As the Senior Medical Writer, you will produce appropriately formatted copy suitable for use across a range of media. You will work collaboratively with internal teams to guide projects, ensuring any copy produced is appropriate to the brief and of high quality. You will also mentor more junior writers.
What you can expect to be doing:
* Generate original content for a range of media and audiences, in line with relevant codes of practice and brand communication objectives.
* Input to the development of strategy, advising on scientific elements to ensure appropriate responses to target audience needs.
* Ensure all copy produced aligns with the overarching strategy of the campaign.
* Produce and edit copy into the correct format for various media, considering UX and project flow.
* Understand clients’ needs and develop offerings to suit them.
* Continually develop your writing style to tailor copy tone for effective communication.
* Support new business development through involvement in proposals, workshops, and pitches.
* Take the lead on client brand activity, being the ‘go-to’ writer across multiple clients and therapy areas.
* Understand the requirements of other teams for optimal copy delivery and seek to improve processes.
* Ensure work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales, requesting additional time when necessary.
Client servicing
* Attend client meetings as required, acting with integrity.
* Actively participate in scientific discussions internally and externally.
* Contribute to pitch activity as lead for the Copy team.
* Maintain awareness of project progress, providing guidance when needed.
What we’d like to see from you:
* 2+ years experience as a Medical Writer in an agency setting, ideally across creative medical writing.
* Experience working with global pharmaceutical companies and creative briefs.
* Experience working directly with clients.
* Some mentoring or management expertise or willingness to do so.
