You should have achieved a First Class/Distinction or equivalent Master’s degree in a highly quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, or computer science, OR a quantitative PhD, OR a 2.1 degree classification in a relevant MSc or BSc with one year’s relevant experience. For mid-senior level positions, we look for candidates with at least 3 years of experience in a related field, developing sophisticated big data pipelines in support of machine learning and advanced analytics. Experience in leading technical projects is also essential.
Responsibilities:
* In your role within the Data, Discovery, and Decision Science (D3) team, you will be responsible for the use and development of data infrastructure projects and proof of concept business solutions for users in analytics and Data Science. You will collaborate with data scientists and analytic engineers to identify needs and implement tactical solutions. Core responsibilities include:
* Working closely with Data Science and business partners, requiring subject matter expertise in the business as well as advanced analytics.
* Participating in the development of test plans and scripts, preparing test data, reconciling data sources, and executing functional tests.
* Helping develop and deliver the data infrastructure required to support the needs of predictive modeling and analytics with minimal supervision.
* Collaborating with engineers to create reliable, purpose-built solutions for a variety of customers and topics.
* Leveraging data analysis and technical fluency in programming languages and technologies such as Oracle, MongoDB, SQL, Python, Spark, Kafka, Scala, and Hadoop to meet business needs.
* Employing a high degree of analytic agility to adapt to fluid and dynamic business needs.
* For mid-senior level responsibilities, you will:
* Provide technical leadership across a functional team to implement analytic solutions that address business challenges.
* Coach and inspire a team of high-performing data engineers.
* Participate in requirement development and assist in documenting requirements.
* Execute rapid development of new data and analytic work tracks and support the data engineering environment with monitoring, quality, and validation processes.
* Mentor team members and promote an environment that supports innovation and process improvement.
