The Person You will be required to demonstrate knowledge and skills in working within a statutory childcare settling. You will have a sound understanding of child development, theories and legislation and policy and be confident in the use of these within assessments. You must be able to work collaboratively and display excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to engage with families and display a clear understanding of their needs and ensure a strengths based approach to working with children and their families. You will be required to travel efficiently and effectively throughout the course of the job. You are required to register with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up employment in this role and to complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning over the first registration period. Potential candidates must have a social work qualification at degree or post graduate level. Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
