Are you passionate about the future of digital learning, competitive gaming, and inspiring the next generation of digital creators? We are seeking a forward-thinking and dynamic Esports & Digital Media Teacher to lead the delivery of our innovative BTEC Level 3 and Level 2 Esports programmes.
This is a unique opportunity to shape an emerging subject area in Post-16 and KS4 education, while also supporting wider curriculum areas such as Media (with a focus on Graphic Design) and Computer Science at KS3 and KS4.
You’ll be the driving force behind our Esports provision, designing and delivering a rich and engaging curriculum that reflects the professionalism, collaboration, and digital skills demanded by this rapidly growing industry.
Approximately 60% of your timetable will be dedicated to Esports teaching at both Level 3 (Post-16) and Level 2 (KS4). The remaining 40% will be spent supporting high-quality teaching and learning in Media (Graphic Design) and Computer Science.
We welcome applications from unqualified teachers, especially Esports graduates, industry professionals, or individuals with relevant experience in the field who can demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a desire to teach. A full programme of mentoring and professional development will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver BTEC Esports qualifications (L2 and L3).
* Create engaging, industry-relevant resources and schemes of learning.
* Facilitate student Esports teams, tournaments, and enrichment activities.
* Support and co-teach in Media (Graphic Design) and Computer Science across KS3/KS4.
* Contribute to the wider digital learning strategy and curriculum development.
* Provide pastoral and academic support to SEMH learners.
Person Specification:
Essential:
* A passion for digital technology, gaming, and creative industries.
* Knowledge and/or experience of the Esports industry or competitive gaming.
* Experience teaching or delivering content in a relevant subject (e.g. Media, IT, Computer Science, Sport) – or a willingness to learn and train on the job.
* Strong digital literacy and an interest in immersive learning.
* High expectations and a commitment to inclusive, student-centred education.
Desirable:
* Experience with the BTEC Esports specification.
* Skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and game design software.
* Experience in organising, coaching or competing in competitive Esports events or teams.
* A recognised teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS or working towards)
