A well-established business based near Malton, is currently recruiting for a Payroll & Accounts Assistant for a 12 month FTC. On offer is an attractive salary up to £28,000 depending on experience. This role also offers 30 days holiday (including bank holidays), a generous pension scheme, and can be done full or part-time, across 3 to 5 days per week.
The main purpose of the role will be to prepare and process monthly salaries and monthly hourly payrolls whilst also supporting the Finance Manager and wider finance team to deliver monthly accounts.
Key responsibilities of the Payroll & Accounts Assistant will include:
* Maintain the payroll processing system and records on a monthly basis
* Adhere to payroll policies and procedures and comply with relevant legislation
* Identify, investigate and resolve any discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records
* Answer any employee queries about wages, deductions, attendance and time records
* Create monthly payroll reports and analysis and post journals to the general ledger
* Make monthly payments to HMRC for PAYE and any other organisations
* Support the wider Finance Team where necessary with monthly reports, sales ledger, purchase ledger, aged debt reports and other relevant tasks
