About the role
The Packaging Technician and Stability Analyst role will help to create and deliver packaging solutions and help complete the analytical product testing requirements, that will fuel incremental growth for Nelson’s portfolio of brands globally.
* Support the Packaging Technologist to develop and deliver exciting packaging NPD projects for Nelson’s brand portfolio as part of the innovation pipeline.
* Partner with R&D, supply chain, and external suppliers to develop exceptional packaging solutions that meet the NPD briefs and delight consumers.
* Lead packaging line trials to test and validate new packaging solutions.
* Support the Packaging Technologist to develop and deliver packaging continuous improvement and productivity-driving initiatives.
* Help to track and report materials usage, sustainability, and packaging waste to support Nelson’s ESG agenda and ensure compliance to all legal and regulatory requirements.
* Manage, maintain and update all specifications for packaging, logistics (pallet plans) and technical drawings for all productions and shipments.
* Assist the Stability Team Leader to complete the schedule of analytical testing on Nelson’s existing and new NPD products.
* Perform physical, chemical, and microbiological testing of products and packaging as required in accordance with good laboratory practice.
* Assist in the management of the walk-in stability rooms and help to calibrate laboratory equipment.
Requirements
* A degree in a scientific/engineering discipline and experience in working in a relevant product/packaging development or laboratory/QA environment.
* A demonstrable interest in packaging with potential interest in developing your career to become a Packaging Development Technologist or Packaging Engineer.
* Scientific curiosity and a passion for innovation and the implementation of new concepts and products.
* Relevant laboratory testing experience in Pharma, Cosmetics or FMCG.
