What do you get if you cross an award winning, innovative, water company and over 300 dedicated team members? Our Design team of course!
Our ambitious and innovative projects (all 5000+ of them) help to combat the challenges of waste and water infrastructure, flooding and water quality. Being part of our inhouse designers means we can do the best by our customers and our water.
If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Commissioning Manager to join us within our Capital Delivery team, to lead and mentor a group of diverse commissioning engineers, ensuring successful delivery of our capital works programme over a wide variety of construction projects and processes, many of which will be market leading within the water industry.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As a Senior Commissioning Manager, you will work closely with the Programme management team to allocate staff to high-risk projects, ensuring timely delivery upon programme, cost and quality with an emphasis upon excellent Health and Safety.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Management of key stakeholders. Ensuring that the team respond to and address incidents with the Project Manager as and when they occur and ensure the root cause is identified and actions taken to prevent re-occurrence.
2. Drive the identification and management of risks which could impact on the successful delivery of the Capital Programme, ensuring compliance with external legislation and statutory obligations.
3. Ensure effective operation of the commissioning process, review processes and maintenance regimes, liaise with stakeholders across supply chain and Operational colleagues.
4. Develop technical and leadership capabilities within your team, actively managing performance and supporting development opportunities for team members.
5. Drive the ‘Health and Safety’ standards programme within the team, encouraging new ideas or initiatives and promoting a safety-focused culture within the group.
6. Contribute to problem resolution in areas where no single solution necessarily exists and/or where no standard applies. Support design teams, share experience and industry best practice.
7. Respond to and address incidents with the stakeholders as and when they occur and ensure the root cause is identified and actions taken to prevent re-occurrence.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
This is a fantastic opportunity to be a key driver in the testing of our assets and bringing them into service safely. The role will offer you the autonomy to introduce new processes and the freedom to think innovatively, in addition to the ability to grow and nurture the team to be the best they can be.
You’ll have experience of working in field delivery and managing construction projects. You will be able to build relationships and liaise with challenging stakeholders and also drive and lead your team.
You will ideally have broad experience or knowledge in water fittings regulations, water regulations, Health & Safety and NRSWA and managing contractors.
The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity and a caring attitude we want to talk to you, too.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities.
