A Nurse Specialist (Special Schools) working within the Specialist Childrens Services team providing high quality, evidence based care to children with complex learning and health needs. The post-holder will have responsibility for a clinical caseload of children and young people (CYP), who are attending the special schools in the area. The nurse specialist works closely with children and young people, parents/ carers, school staff and other professionals, to ensure that the assessed health needs are met and CYP are enabled to access education and be able to reach their full potential, whilst in this setting. This role also involves undertaking review health assessments for looked after children who are attending the special schools.
To be responsible for the supervision and development of a B5 nurse. The post-holder will contribute towards the continual development of Specialist Childrens Services and ensure high standards of clinical practice are maintained and monitored. To work with partnership agencies to provide integrated childrens services in line with current policy and best practice.
