Launched in 2005, ABT has built a reputation as one of the UK and Ireland's leading membership, insurance and publishers for beauty and hair professionals. At the heart of the company, for our 16 staff is a passion to look after our 18,000 members via benefits, events, news, media and brand collaborations. Currently our client book includes brands such as Dermalogica, OPI, Wella, Glitterbels, Gelish among others.
In January 2022, ABT launched a new platform and focused on brand collaborations through a media and news website, digital and print magazine, which aimed to distribute news, marketing and leads to our loyal brands.
Job details
This is a far-reaching creative content copy writing role that presents exciting opportunities to grow and establish your skills. You will be an important addition to our small, yet talented marketing and design team. Working with us across multiple channels including print and digital magazine, email, social media marketing, paid partnerships, influencer marketing and events. You will support ABT’s marketing strategy and help achieve our ambitions and goals.
We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for copy writing and journalism, who is committed and willing to grow, evolve and establish the role as their own. What you’ll do
* Work with the Head of Brand and Marketing and wider team to help maximize coverage and communication through various marketing channels, including email marketing, website, and magazine.
* Champion the latest trends and work with brands to enable maximum results through written content, published magazine and relevant marketing channels.
* Actively research and communicate to our members about influential and insightful news and features that keep our membership base ahead of trends, including current affairs, news and launches within the industry.
* Work closely with Marketing and Brand to identify, build, send and optimize ongoing communications.
* Work with the creative team in producing a bimonthly membership magazine for both print and digital formats.
* Provide that deadlines, schedules and concepts are created and executed via our scheduling platforms.
* Attend events, brand meetings and influencer lunches where required.
* Readily assist the department with ad-hoc tasks such as inbound inquiries, report updates and other administrative work.
* We currently use various products – Microsoft Office 365, Hootsuite, Monday, Mail Chimp, Text Local and our internal custom build system.
About you
* A minimum of one year’s experience in writing professionally copy writing, journalist, technical writer, editor is preferable.
* A strong interest and understanding of content writing, journalism, research, and publishing is desirable.
* A willingness to work hard and be flexible within the role.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication. You will be confident collaborating with the wider team.
* Eagerness to develop and learn.
* Understand magazine production and publishing.
* Strong time management with ability to organise and prioritise your workload to meet important deadlines.
* Competent with Microsoft365 package, and other multi-media tools.
* Candidates with a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Journalism, English, Communications are preferred however not essential.
