The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting tasks, such as posting supplier invoices, making supplier payments, and posting month-end journals.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Dealing with supplier’s queries on an as-needed basis
2. Reconciling supplier statements
3. Posting month-end journals
4. Cash book postings and bank reconciliation
Requirements
Knowledge
1. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
2. Knowledge and understanding of the importance of month-end and year-end
Skills
1. High level of numeracy
2. Good communication skills both written and verbal
3. Ability to generate good working relationships with wider finance team members working in other locations
Experience
1. Previous experience working in a finance role
2. Prior experience of computerised accounting packages
3. Experience within the marine sector
Personal Characteristics
1. Copes well under pressure
2. Comfortable dealing with volume at a fast pace
