Workshop Joiner / Machinist
We are GSF Stairs, a renowned family-run designer, manufacturer, and installer of specialist and bespoke staircases across the South of the UK. Our lovely workshop is based in the Hampshire countryside at Pensdell Farm, Basingstoke, on the Hampshire, Surrey, and Berkshire borders. We are a small family joinery business that has been trading since 1992, dedicated to delivering the highest quality custom staircases tailored to the individual needs and style preferences of our clients.
The business is growing, and the team is further expanding. We are looking for individuals with experience in the stairs sector to help us progress. As such, we are looking for an experienced staircase joiner to join us in providing high-quality service and expertise to our customers. We are keen to grow and have a team that is willing to grow with us.
The ideal candidate's role will include:
1. Setting out, machining, assembly of stairs and stair parts using the flatbed CNC, woodworking machines, and power tools.
2. Undertaking stock management to ensure materials are ready for the builds.
3. Bringing in fresh ideas for procedures, speed, and quality to benefit the company.
4. Loading and unloading vans, making deliveries, and helping installers (rare).
To be eligible for this role, you must have:
1. A minimum of 2 years bench joinery experience (staircase experience ideal).
2. A desire and commitment to delivering high-quality joinery products.
3. The ability to read, interpret, and set out from drawings using our dedicated StairBiz software.
4. Experience setting up CNC machines for allocated jobs (training can be given).
5. Performing machining according to specifications on plans and cutting lists.
6. Maintaining the machine maintenance schedule and ensuring good housekeeping.
7. The ability to solve complications in a timely manner.

In return we offer:
1. Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 pa depending on experience.
2. Full-time, Permanent 7:30am - 4:00pm.
3. Benefits - Company pension, Uniform.
4. 23 days paid holiday including Christmas shutdown, plus bank holidays.
