About the role
The Sustainable Innovation Manager, Future Horizons, is a senior SME position with strategic contribution to the creation of our Technology Platform Roadmaps and single point accountability for the consequent H3 development program in terms of governance, prioritization, project management and delivery. The objective of the platform TPR is to transform clear thought leadership and vision into innovation impact through the anticipated and accelerated development of new-to-Haleon, new-to-category / industry packaging building blocks. The Sustainable Innovation Manager, Future Horizons, fosters strong collaboration between R&D Packaging and the Packaging procurement team to jointly deliver the program. An ability to influence and drive first client and stakeholder influence in the BUs. Managing seamless partnership with the broader R&D organization, Innovation, Design, IP, Sustainability, QSC.
Role Responsibilities
1. TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM ROADMAPS Define and operationalise strategic packaging TPRs across key platforms (Bottles, Tubes and Blisters)
2. 2030 GOALS Lead company-level definition, upstream development, and de-risking of ‘big bet’ H3 innovation for the given platform(s) of responsibility to contribute to 2030 sustainable packaging goals
3. ECOSYSTEM deliver through external development ecosystem to maximise the leverage of suppliers
4. INDUSTRY CONSORTIA deliver through and influences industry-leading consortia
5. GOVERNANCE Manage ‘Lead investor’ relationships internally with the BUs to land work product into the BU into pipeline
6. FIT FOR PURPOSE CAPABILITY PLANNING Contribute to Supplier Relationship Management and leverage capability planning for the H3 priority projects: internal vs external, physical vs digital, micro lab to pilot scale up
7. EXTERNAL VISIBILITY drive presence and influence of Haleon R&D Packaging & thought leadership amongst our peer group for the given platform(s) of responsibility
Basic Qualifications:
8. Bachelor of Science degree
9. 7+ Years experience in FMCG Packaging Development (Consumer or Healthcare preferred) with end-to-end development experience.
10. A strong track record in project and/or program management and delivery of innovation.
11. Experience in complex upstream developments (Technical, Design, Innovation) and their enablers (Joint development ecosystems, Strategic Alliances).
12. Capable to operate highly autonomously with a high level of independent judgement and execution, anticipating, interpreting and resolving complex organizational opportunities
13. Supports development of functional strategies for the Technology Platforms and drives strategy implementation through the direct accountability for development of the building blocks
14. Direct accountability for development of the building blocks and associated risk management and communication to internal business clients
15. Guides others in resolving complex issues in specialized area based on existing or new solutions
16. Influences others beyond scope and level
Preferred Qualifications:
17. MSc, MSEng or PhD
18. Experience in managing technology or innovation roadmaps preferred
