A vacancy has arisen for the position for a Pharmacy Support Worker within the Pharmacy Department at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital.
The job involves working within various areas of the department to ensure medicines are available as ward stock or for individual patients. They also support the ward-based teams who work on the front line in a patient-facing role.
Main duties of the job
The duties will involve all aspects of pharmacy, including the receipt of goods, filling ward stock orders, working in the dispensary, and on the wards carrying out a ward top-up and pack-away service. This will include some manual handling of bulk stock.
We require the candidate to be experienced in dispensing, and you must hold an NVQ2 Certificate in Pharmacy Services. The candidate must have a sound educational background having GCSE level C or above (or equivalent) or proven numeracy/literacy skills to an acceptable level.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible and have the ability to work in a busy and demanding working environment. You will need to be enthusiastic with good communication skills. Computer literacy would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly in supporting the Trust's directive of seven-day working, participating in rotas and/or shift working as necessary, including weekend and bank holiday working.

Education and Qualifications

* Previous pharmacy experience in hospital or retail pharmacy.
