If you are passionate about helping people live healthier, happier lives, we have an exciting opportunity for you. Global Action Plan is looking for a new Senior Programme Manager in their Clean Air Team working on community engagement across London - helping to make a real change in the world. We are keen to hear from applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and experience, and particularly those who are currently underrepresented in the environmental sector and those most affected by the issues we focus on. We also encourage applicants who can bring excellent transferrable experience but don’t necessarily meet every aspect of the skills and experience listed below. Global Action Plan mobilises people and organisations to take action on the systems that harm us and our planet. We are an environmental charity working towards a green and thriving planet where everyone can enjoy happy and healthy lives within the Earth’s limits. We tackle the root causes of our climate and nature crises through research, campaigns and collective action, focusing on issues where the connection between the health of people and our planet is most tangible. We’re the people behind Clean Air Day (the UK’s biggest air pollution campaign); the co-creators of the Clean Air Hospital, ICS Clean Air and Clean Air School Frameworks; the designers of the Clean Air Public Insights Tracker; and the architects of the Clean Air Hub. We work with a range of partners, to both encourage the adoption of actions that cut pollution by institutions and individuals and to together call for the systemic change required to improve air quality. Beyond tackling air pollution, we’re also working with young people on new ideas about wellbeing and consumerism; that what makes them happier will at the same time be better for the planet. We bring progressive businesses and school children together to work on ground-breaking projects that develop leaders of the future and have a benefit on our environment today. This is one of the most exciting roles in the field of air quality. You will manage the delivery of GAP’s community engagement and activation across London. You will have the opportunity to work with hospitals, schools, and local authorities across the capital who are using air quality sensors as part of the project. You will build an understanding of air pollution levels across these groups, and work with them to take action to tackle air pollution and protect the health of Londoners from dirty air. We are looking for a passionate sustainability professional with experience in leading multi-stakeholder programmes that improve the environment and people’s health. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who can lead in the following four areas: Programme & Relationship Management Network Activation & Collaboration Network Engagement Strategic Thinking
