The Regional Business Manager Role Reporting to the Group Regional Director, this is very much a senior hybrid role, whereby you will effectively lead our flagship Northwest Regional Distribution Centre. With P&L responsibility for the site, your core focus will entail managing sales, procurement & logistics functions, ensuring consistent focus to deliver sustainable and profitable growth aligned to the company strategy. Day to day, you will utilise all your management experience to get ‘hands on' with influencing and delivering all aspects including service excellence, highest operational standards, cost optimization, new business growth, sales initiatives and customer engagement. Underpinning all of this will be the need to develop a motivated team and maintain high moral within the business. Regional Business Manager Key Responsibilities Lead by example, providing consistent leadership and direction to the team to create a high-performing team culture; engage your teams to demonstrate our company values, embedding them into the way you operate. Lead all commercial sales and operational activities such as sales, sales development, customer retention, customer growth, procurement, operations, logistics, and supply chain. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal departments, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration. Ensure effective utilisation of the Innovation Lab at site by members of the team in providing consultative service and solutions to customers Create and implement a business plan for the centre in conjunction with the Director Maximize both sales and profit responsibly by being aware of the profit implications of selling stock products as opposed to non-stock products. Conduct key account management duties, including strategic account reviews where appropriate. Analyse, interpret, and communicate financial and commercial information to monitor your site's P&L performance in line with budgetary and balanced objectives. Identify & explore potential alternative sources of income/revenue generation to help maximise site profitability Work in a constructive manner and promote co-operation between departments and functions, other sites including national accounts, contributing to best practice synergies. Proactively manage the performance (including talent management and succession planning) of all direct reports through effective implementation of company policies and procedures. Oversee the recruitment process for all positions within the business, working closely with HR and hiring managers to ensure the timely and effective sourcing, screening, and selection of qualified candidates. Operate with full operational accountability and responsibility for your site, effectively managing your time to ensure H&S, Security, and People practices are up to date and compliant. Promote and drive an excellent health and safety culture, understanding incident trends and follow-up actions. What you will bring to the role We are looking for a talented individual who has balanced experience of both general site management and commercial sales leadership. You must have ideally held a similar senior ‘hybrid' role in the past and made it a success. It would also be preferable if you have managed a similar size and scale operation in the past. Packaging specific experience is not essential (although advantageous), we would however favour experience within a fast-moving distribution business. What's important is that you can credibly lead the local sales function whilst effectively managing the overall site. You will reside less than an hour from our site in Heywood and hold a valid UK driving licence (please note we do also welcome interest from applicants genuinely seeking relocation to the area).
