Project Co-Ordinator (Construction)
Salary: £30k - £40k depending on experience
Office Based: 9am - 5.30pm
Are you organised and love to work in a busy environment? This may be the role for you! We are currently looking for an experienced Project Co-ordinator to join our client's growing construction business based in Gillingham, Kent.
This Project Coordinator role will be quite a high-pressure, busy job – so would require someone who has had previous experience in a similar role, especially if it is within construction, which would be beneficial. The candidate will be working in a team of 5 administration staff and will report to the Directors' Project Manager.
Project Coordinator Role Responsibilities:
1. Assisting the Directors’ Project Manager as part of the support team in carrying out administration tasks for the Projects team.
2. Be the central point of contact for new investigation work within the company, to be supported and guided by the Directors’ Project Manager.
3. Developing access strategy in conjunction with Investigation Site Manager and Directors Project Manager.
4. Assessing plant, equipment, and material requirements.
5. Programming in of works; potential to use Asta software.
6. Ordering materials, plant, and labour with support given by the Orders Dept and Directors’ Project Manager.
7. Liaising with H&S, Design & Technical, Estimating, and Business Development to ensure scope of works and delivery of works is fulfilled.
8. Ensuring clients and stakeholders are kept informed throughout the lead up, delivery, and completion of works.
9. Submitting valuations and applications to the client and subcontractors.
10. Assist in progressing the PCAS.
11. Provide cover for Directors’ Project Manager on holidays and peak periods, if required.
12. Assist in the maintenance and building of relationships with all key client staff and stakeholders, funders, and other third parties, including regular and ad hoc meetings, resident consultation meetings, and relevant working groups.
13. Take full ownership of all aspects of management of works within your remit.
14. Be in possession of all relevant information to produce, maintain, and control the delivery of the project, communicating information to the staff as required.
15. Maintain agreed quality standards, communicate those standards, all programme and contract requirements to project management teams and sub-contractors.
16. Work with Health & Safety department to ensure delivery of the pre-construction phase.
17. Schedule and attend site and management meetings weekly, fortnightly, monthly as required.
Project Coordinator Skills and Qualifications:
1. Advanced user of Microsoft Outlook email and calendars and MS Word. Competent user of MS Excel.
2. Attention to detail and analytical approach.
3. Excellent English language skills, dealing with telephone calls, visitors, and emails appropriately.
4. Competent user of Project Probe (training to be given).
5. Strong communication skills.
6. Ability to work together effectively.
