Job Description:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced 1:1 Secondary Tutor to provide tailored academic support to secondary school students. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the educational journey of young learners, offering personalised tuition across a range of subjects. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students reach their full academic potential.
Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one tutoring in key secondary school subjects (e.g., English, Maths, Science, History, etc.), adjusting your approach to suit the individual needs of each student.
* Help students improve their understanding of the curriculum, preparing them for exams and coursework.
* Develop personalised lesson plans that focus on the student's specific areas for improvement.
* Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure continued academic growth.
* Build positive and trusting relationships with students to foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
* Assist students with developing essential study skills, exam techniques, and time management.
Requirements:
* A relevant degree or teaching qualification.
* Previous experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably with secondary school students.
* A strong understanding of the secondary school curriculum (KS3, GCSE, or A-Level).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students.
* A patient, flexible, and student-centred approach to teaching.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
* Experience tutoring students with additional learning needs or those who require extra academic support.
* Knowledge of exam boards and their specific requirements.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
