Job Description
We're currently looking to hire a Finance Manager - PMC Pooled Operations to join Legal and General Finance function.
As Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for managing a team of finance professionals undertaking Finance-related processes for the PMC pooled client base, including revenue management, billing, and cash management.
The role holder is responsible for overseeing processes, ensuring that they are completed effectively and on time and that work is prioritised across the team to respond to peaks and troughs in workflows.
What you'll be doing:
* Maintaining and developing controls and processes to ensure that PMC pooled revenue management activities continue to be undertaken accurately, promptly, and with an appropriate level of financial control in place.
* Overseeing the production and review of client invoices (c. 4,500 per quarter), ensuring that a robust control framework is maintained to support the preparation of accurate calculations in line with contractual terms. This will include regular liaison with Client Relationship Teams and Client Relationship Managers to ensure any changes to client terms are implemented in a timely and efficient manner.
* Overseeing the activities of the PMC Cash team, ensuring that transactions are processed accurately and with appropriate controls in place.
* Ensuring that all PMC's daily and weekly dealing accounts are reconciled consistently (balances up to c. £1bn each day), with any reconciliation breaks being fully investigated and understood.
* Managing workflows across the team and directing resources as necessary to respond to peaks and troughs in demand, ensuring that all activities are completed in line with deadlines (e.g. month-end deadlines for revenue accruals, daily deadlines for cash management funding decisions).
* Continually developing processes across the team, ensuring that automation opportunities are identified and implemented in a controlled manner. Identify innovative solutions to increase automation and improve efficiency allowing cost efficiency benefits to be realised.
* Supporting the Senior Finance Manager with any new responsibilities that may emerge and any ad hoc analysis and 'deep dives' that are required relating to the PMC pooled activities within the team.
* Ensuring ongoing training is provided to all relevant staff to enable administration processes to be followed effectively and efficiently, so that clients are treated fairly.
* Managing the team in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures, including the Partnership Agreement, so that the team's business objectives are achieved consistently.
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
* You'll be a Qualified accountant with good strong experience managing a team (essential).
* Regulatory Environment - Understanding of EU, UK and other regulations impacting LGIM's product set and business.
* Understanding of investment management products - Understanding of the investment management product set, including awareness of product features, characteristics, purpose, and profit dynamics.
* Financial accounting and control - Understanding and application of relevant accounting standards and best practice around financial control. Awareness of key tax legislation.
* Management accounting - Understanding of investment appraisal techniques, e.g. DCF, NPV, IRR.
* Excel - Ability to use Excel to analyse financial information.
* Leadership - Prioritisation, planning, and organising multi-task/multi-person assignments. Recognising and developing talent. Assessing and communicating organisational goals and objectives. Ability to motivate others. Effective delegation.
