This is your chance to be part of a busy team that is flexible, responds quickly to change and is never complacent. The Hertfordshire Coroner Service operates from The Old Courthouse, Hatfield. Last year the service dealt with 3,000 reported deaths with approximately 400 of these deaths requiring an Inquest. About the role A full time position has arisen for an Admin Support Officer in Hertfordshire Coroner Service based in Hatfield. You will assist the team in providing a full range of administrative and general office duties and will report to the Senior Admin Support Officer. You will be working for the Hertfordshire Coroner Service within the Democratic & Statutory Services directorate under Legal Service within Resources. You will be required to work as part of a busy but dynamic team to represent the interests of HM Coroner for Hertfordshire by providing an investigative service and assisting in the execution of the Coroner's legal and public protection duties, in accordance with the Coroners and Justice Act 2009. About you Essential: We will need you to have a proven track record of demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a track record of delivering excellent customer service and be able to ensure work is carried out to a high standard with agreed performance levels. You'll be competent in Microsoft packages and have excellent IT skills and administration experience. We are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic person to this very busy, high functioning team based at The Old Courthouse, Hatfield. The role requires a high level of confidentiality, and accuracy and the ability to deal sensitively with the bereaved. The successful candidate must work well as part of a team and using their own initiative. The role requires excellent customer care skills working with the Coroner Officers and members of the public during times of bereavement. You must be able to interpret instructions and details and action their requests whilst working within a legislative framework. Desirable: Experience working in a coroner service. Experience of working in a high functioning team. Demonstrate ability to be flexibly and multitask. Previous experience of working with the bereaved.
