What the school offers its staff
Ensuring our pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to become motivated, passionate and resilient learners is at the heart of everything we do. Our ambition is for all pupils to develop a full appreciation of the world in which they are growing up and to feel a sense of awe and wonder about the vastness of human creativity and achievement.
However, we recognise that academic achievement alone is not enough, and that emphasis should be placed on the personal development of our pupils. We do this by providing a progressive Enrichment Curriculum as well as an ambitious Academic Curriculum. Both are underpinned by our school mission to:
Nurture lifelong learners who are confident and ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities of the outside world.
Professional Development
We attach huge importance to continued Professional Learning and recognise that, in the exciting and ever-changing environment in which we work, we are all learners and are constantly looking for ways to improve our practice.
Our comprehensive in-house Professional Learning offer comprises weekly pedagogy and subject knowledge-based sessions, Action Research Communities, Further Professional Learning sessions, opportunities to coach and mentor and to engage in research.
As a Trust we actively develop our teachers through nationally accredited programmes including a range of National Professional Qualifications and many of our staff have completed courses at Masters level. Members of our Leadership Team regularly engage in school-to-school support and deliver training for Early Career Teachers.
Being part of a Multi Academy Trust also enables our staff to work across schools and phases. Not only does this broaden their experience, it opens up a wider range of leadership and development opportunities.
