Job Title: Assessor – Health and Social Care (Welsh Speaking)\nLocation: Hybrid (South Wales) (with travel as required)\nSalary: Up to £29,000 per annum (depending on experience)\nContract Type: Full-Time, Permanent\nHours: 37.5 hours per week\n\nRole Overview:\n\nWe are seeking a motivated and experienced Health and Social Care Assessor who is fluent in Welsh to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality training and assessment to learners across South Wales, ensuring their success and development within the Health and Social Care sector.\n\nYou will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored learning routes, providing exceptional support to learners, and ensuring compliance with awarding body standards. This is a field-based role that requires travelling to learners’ workplaces.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nTraining and Assessment\n\n * Deliver training and assessments for Health and Social Care learners, ensuring high-quality standards.\n\n * Travel regionally to visit learners in the workplace to conduct assessments and provide support.\n\n * Create Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and map out learning routes for learners to achieve their goals.\n\n * Assess and mark workplace evidence for Essential Skills Wales (ESW) and Key Skills requirements.\n\n * Facilitate and invigilate tests as per awarding body requirements.\n\n * Maintain accurate and timely documentation to evidence learner progress and achievements.\n\n * Provide additional support to learners when required, ensuring a positive learning experience.\n\n * Develop engaging course materials and resources to support learner needs.\n\nQuality Assurance\n\n * Ensure all documentation and records meet audit and awarding body compliance requirements.\n\n * Maintain Award Body records and ensure adherence to all standards and policies.\n\n * Monitor learner progression and ensure timely completion of their qualifications.\n\n * Use sampling and data analysis to ensure assessment consistency and quality.\n\nCollaboration and Development\n\n * Maintain excellent working relationships with employers, identifying potential business opportunities.\n\n * Support unqualified learners and those requiring additional development to achieve their qualifications.\n\n * Liaise with team members to ensure effective course delivery and promote best practices.\n\n * Stay updated on sector developments and maintain CPD records to reflect ongoing professional development.\n\nGeneral Responsibilities\n\n * Ensure compliance with company policies, including safeguarding, equal opportunities, and health and safety.\n\n * Promote the company’s core values and quality policies in all aspects of work.\n\n * Support continuous improvement by developing new qualifications and improving delivery models.\n\n * Undertake any additional duties required to support the organisation’s goals.\n\nEssential Experience & Qualifications:\n\n * Fluent Welsh speaker (essential for this role).\n\n * Assessor qualification (CAVA, A1, or equivalent).\n\n * Occupational competence in Health and Social Care.\n\n * ESW Communication and Application of Number qualifications at Level 2.\n\n * Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.\n\nDesirable Experience & Qualifications:\n\n * TAQA qualification or equivalent.\n\n * Experience delivering apprenticeships in Health and Social Care.\n\n * Familiarity with awarding body practices and public-funded training schemes.\n\n * City & Guilds 9300 Level 2 in Supporting Adults and Young People in Essential Skills (or willingness to work towards).\n\nSkills and Knowledge\n\nIT literate, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and learner platforms.\n\nStrong organisational skills with attention to detail.\n\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\n\nKnowledge of safeguarding, Prevent, and equality and diversity practices.\n\nPersonal Characteristics\n\nSelf-motivated and able to work independently.\n\nFlexible, reliable, and adaptable to change.\n\nStrong team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.\n\nResilient under pressure and able to meet deadlines.\n\nPassionate about learner success and continuous improvement
