Role: General Manager Location: Nottinghamshire Salary: £60-70K, Car or Car Allowance plus Benefits, Full-time Hours The Role: Inizio Engage are working with a client within the commercial vehicle industry whose top focus evolves around their customers as well as their people who are central to their success and they promote a people focused culture that nurtures and develops talent from within. As General Manager, will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of sales and operations, driving growth, and nurturing a talented team out of their Nottingham depot. You will have overall responsibility for the P&L for all depot operations out of Nottingham including used vehicle sales and an HGV workshop. H&S and site overheads are also part of the role. Collaboration with all departments is key to the success of this role. Your leadership will help mature and guide their team while maintaining a focus on operational excellence and high-performance standards. The role of the General Manager will comprise of the following duties: Develop and execute strategic plans to drive growth and achieve financial targets. You will be a key stakeholder in the business, responsible and accountable for the depot's P&L Responsibility for health & safety, setting the tone and championing a H&S culture across the depot at all times promoting a healthy workplace and colleague wellbeing Act as a brand ambassador and build the used truck brand in the retail environment. Work towards the position of selling 80% of used vehicles through the retail channel. Ensure that the workshop is highly utilised and efficient. Identify end of life vehicles from existing fleet to be defleeted and sold. Management of budget and used vehicle sales targets. Report to the Board providing updates on financial performance, operational efficiency, and growth progress. Experience & Expertise You Will Bring: A proven track record in managing a depot and looking after all aspects of site maintenance and health and safety. Commercial awareness. Be able to demonstrate great business judgement. Negotiation skills - maximising added value and profitability Influencing skills - internally with company stakeholders to manage the effective defleeting of vehicles and the internal workshops. Commercial vehicle (HGV) knowledge - strong understanding of the HGV industry and fundamental knowledge of vehicles Creative thinker - identifies multiple options to ensure success. Ability to manage up and down effectively - feedback on industry trends and other potential opportunities and challenges. Outcome focussed - delivers the annual budget in line with other key objectives. Understanding of residual values in commercial assets. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop a relatively young team.
