Job Overview: Working alongside our client, an established plastic packaging manufacturer, we are looking for a Development Engineer to join their team.
Role:
1. As a Development Engineer you will manage and assist in the development and engineering projects on site and provide second line support to the engineering team.
2. The successful candidate will be a time served engineer, with an electrical bias and trained to an HNC/HND level.

2. 33 days annual leave, including a shutdown at Christmas

Responsibilities:
1. To identify opportunities for improvements and make recommendations to improve machine and process effectiveness.
2. To assist in managing engineering projects from inception through to completion, including:
1. Writing equipment specifications
2. Managing all appropriate resources
3. Implementing and monitoring
4. Compliance with budgetary limitations
5. Effective hand over to production
3. To adhere to company Health and Safety requirements.
4. This position is not solely office based and requires a hands-on approach.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Time served Engineer, electrically biased and qualified to an HNC/HND level
2. Ideally, a good working knowledge of PLC and servo control systems
3. Understanding and ability to work with/troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems
4. Good computer skills, CAD systems, ideally Auto-Cad would be desirable
5. Have experience on installing and commissioning new pieces of equipment
6. Good understanding in all aspects of Health and Safety, including control of contractors
7. Proven ability to work and deliver to agreed timescales
8. Self-motivated and work on own initiative as well as part of a team
9. The analytical ability to approach, manage and solve problems of varying levels of complexity
10. Good communication and organisational skills
