Quality Assurance Specialist Purpose: Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Quality Assurance Specialist who will be a key support to the team and operations support to the key position that is located in Norfolk, Va. Job Description: Candidates must be able to navigate NMD and understand clearly: the NAVSEA Standard Items, The JFMM 4-E Appendix, and the elements that make up a sound Work Specification. Items for compliance with the requirements of the Work Notifications and the JFMM and therefore must be organized and disciplined. The candidate will follow the standards set forth by the CNRMC and adjust any QA review to comply with new information or communications from the Government/Q.E.D. Management. Job Qualifications: Must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. Be detail oriented Understand SWLIN groups and the ESWBS Manual Be able to continuously learn new information as the industry rules and regulations change Have a strong work ethic Be proactive in capturing lessons-learned Understand Customer Satisfaction and Schedule are the top priorities Knowledge of Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and/or Execution experience in a FFP environment is a plus Trade-Oriented background is preferred i.e. structural, mechanical, piping and/or electrical Three or more years of experience in the U.S. Navy Depot Level Surface Ship maintenance planning/estimating functions and/or availability work package development required Desired Qualifications: Prior military experience preferred (US Navy or Marine). Security Requirements: Must have an Active DoD Secret security clearance and be able to maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Travel Requirements: Occasional travel- up to 10% Physical Requirements: Physical ability to climb ladders, transit decks and perform work on Navy vessels and the harsh environments found in shipboard compartments. Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.
