TXM Recruit have a brand new opportunity for a Programme Manager on a permanent basis working across TRU Stations.
Role Overview:
Accountable for the management and co-ordination of all station related projects being delivered by the TRU Programme. Manage and oversee the successful completion adequately captured and delivered and ebale the timely engagement of internal stakeholders to facilitate successful project development, delivery & entry into service.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Act as the lead for TRU Station projects with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that proposals are correctly scoped, developed, delivered and successfully entered into service.
2. Act as station lead at TRU Programme Steering Committee, Industry Working Groups, Design & Hazard Workshops, Site Construction/Entry into Service meetings and challenge to ensure that companies strategic interests are communicated and protected as necessary.
3. Lead the co-ordination and influence of cross-functional project resources, providing guidance and direction to TRU project / Property/ Regional / Planning teams on the preferred approach to delivering successful station projects.
4. Lead the planning, identification and procuring of TRU project resource, escalating resource gaps and over-utilisation where identified.
5. Lead the management of accurate cost schedules & project programmes are maintained for the TRU Station Portfolio, and that delivery teams plan and communicate project timelines, highlighting changes to baseline cost & programme.
6. Lead the production of regular summary status reports for the TRU Station portfolio including, schedule, cost, risks and issues, and items for escalating as required.
7. Oversee project team compliance to robust change control mechanisms. Lead the assessment of impact against project scope, requirements, budget and timeline and communicate to stakeholders as required.
8. Lead lessons learned exercises of completed activities and recommend improvements & best practice to future projects and the wider team.
9. Lead the creation & development of contingency plans are developed at an earlier stage in the project lifecycle and manage as required.
10. Liaise closely with Northern’s Programme Controls Team and the TRU Programme Integration Directorate to establish project governance requirements and reporting arrangements for the TRU Station Portfolio.
11. Lead in the delivery of the essential role of ‘information conduit’ between Northern and the TRU Project for all things relating to Stations.
Role Requirements:
12. Demonstrable Project Management skills, ideally with a related qualification and membership of professional body.
13. Commercial acumen and negotiation skills
14. Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation, CSM and CDM Regulations, including a working knowledge of fire safety legislation.
15. Degree level qualifications and/or substantial relevant experience in managing complex Construction/Property related projects.
16. Readily demonstrate excellent communication skills.
17. Capability to form effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across organisational boundaries and comfortable working on own initiative.
18. An understanding of railway geography and organisational structures, particularly Network Rail.
