Role: Process Manufacturing Engineer Location: Coventry Sector: Automotive – Interiors Salary: £40-50k (Depending on experience) Responsibilities: The Process Manufacturing Engineer will be part of the Operations Department based in Coventry. The main objective of this position is to develop and manage a lean improvement plan. The role is part of the Operations team and will report directly to the Operations Manager. Main Activities: The activities the individual will be involved in include but not limited to: Develop, and manage a lean improvement plan within a manufacturing/production environment Identifying and managing the complete mapping of Value Stream processes Identifying areas of added value by creating standards that improve working conditions and performance Analysing product and resource flows to reduce waste and inefficiencies, ensuring the system operates without interruptions, delays, or waiting times Supporting production and logistics planning to harmonise flows between departments and different areas by introducing simple, optimised pull/push systems In the pursuit of excellence, developing and supporting the plant’s Continuous Improvement plan using PDCA methodology, incorporating key best practices (Kaizen, 5S, etc.), and ensuring full employee involvement in the continuous improvement process Managing the KPI of Operations by detailing, for each department/area, the data needed to effectively monitor performance and supporting the development of specific cost reduction projects Implementing and supporting structured analysis in manufacturing processes to optimise both incremental and fixed costs, and proposing actions and investments aimed at eliminating activities that do not add value Implementing and supporting an Internal Auditing plan on Lean issues in collaboration with the Quality function. Working with the team, and management to enhance processes, and procedures Education & Experience: Experience in a similar role, preferably within the automotive industry Experience of working within a Tier 1 environment Degree in Mechanical or Management Engineering or equivalent experience Knowledge and understanding of quality systems and processes Trained in the implementation of Lean methodologies, and continuous improvement (Desirable) Green Belt and Black Belt certifications are highly (Desirable) Skills: Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite Ability to analyse data, process information, and write reports Strong interpersonal and communication skills Assertiveness and leadership abilities Problem-solving skills Strong goal-oriented mindset Sponsorship is not available so you must have the full right to work in the UK both now, and in the future
