They are now looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, CAD Engineer/Design Technician to join their small team which has responsibility for designing new solutions for in house and outsourced production.
The role will involve preparing drawings and renders for customer approval, as well as manufacturing and layout drawings for use by in-house fabricators and 3rd party suppliers. In addition to this you will be working closely with the Research and Development team to help create new products and with the Projects team to create bespoke, customer specific solutions. Regular duties will involve:
Producing 2D layouts, 3D models and renders for customer quotations & tenders.
Producing manufacturing drawings for in-house fabrication and outsourcing.
Producing technical drawings for use in marketing materials.
Producing bill of material and component lists for procurement.
Interpreting survey data to produce custom, site specific solutions.
Work with the R&D team to reduce production costs of existing products and create new product ideas (including prototypes).
Liaising with colleagues to ensure components are suitable for manufacture and final production matches the original drawings.
Providing technical support to colleagues in Sales and Project teams to answer customer queries.
To be successful, you must:
Have solid and demonstrable experience in a similar CAD engineering role with the ability to produce 2D and 3D drawings and 3D models and renders.
Be proficient CAD software including AutoCAD and Solid Works.
Have demonstrable experience of fabrication (especially sheet metal) and construction
Experience or interest in prototyping and modelling would be a benefit.
Have strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Be a great communicator.
