£41,625 to £44,702 per annum (For exceptional performers, there is scope for further progression up to £59,733 per annum)
Location: Onsite - This role will be based on site, primarily in the named location.

As User Experience Manager, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of the Library’s user experience services operational plan. You’ll ensure the Library’s environments are designed and configured to best support learning and research, and that the Library’s user interaction models support both students and academic staff. You’ll provide direction and leadership for a team of specialists and as a member of the Library’s Leadership Team, will ensure the Library’s strategic aims are realised.
To be successful in this role you will:
* Hold a degree or have equivalent professional experience
* Have experience of managing physical library environments
* Be able to critically analyse services and processes
* Be able to communicate effectively with both specialist and non-specialists
* Lead the operational development and management of the Library's physical spaces and overarching user experience, placing strong focus on continuous improvement to align with university priorities.
* Develop and lead the delivery of service models across university sites, ensuring appropriate library provision across these locations.
* Oversee the management of circulation services across all library sites, implementing and enhancing provision as required.
* Implement operational plans associated with the Library’s user experience services, ensuring effective measures and benchmarks are used to monitor progress.
* Lead on operational liaison with internal and external partners in respect of the Library’s user experience services.
* Working with colleagues across the Library, lead on regular user experience and usability testing and utilise learnings derived to plan, implement and monitor any required changes.
* Oversee the capture and collation of data relevant to library spaces and user experience; analysing, interpreting and reporting conclusions and making recommendations that inform decision-making in service design and delivery.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements associated with the operations of physical spaces.
* Maintain current awareness and knowledge of pedagogically effective library environment and user interaction provision.
* Provide specialist advice and guidance across the University in respect of the user experience associated with library experience services.
* Contribute towards the design of the Library’s physical and digital environments, ensuring an excellent user experience for education and research.
* Lead the management of the Library’s communications and promotion strategies, ensuring effective promotion of service developments.
* Actively manage business continuity of the Library’s user experience services.
* Provide line management to reporting colleagues, defining agreed objectives and securing effective performance management.
* Actively participate as a member of working groups across the Library and the wider University.
* Lead and deliver projects aligned to the strategic priorities of the Library.
* Actively promote and support inclusion through operational activities undertaken through the role.
* Undertake continuous personal and professional development in support of the role.
* Be flexible with working pattern and in working at different University sites as required.
* Ensure compliance with relevant University policies and procedures.

* Experience of managing and motivating people, including identifying skills gaps and training needs.

* Experience of leveraging quantitative and qualitative data to inform decision making and drive continuous quality improvement.
