The Role: To support a 6-year-old male individual with a diagnosis of global development delay, hypotonia and autism spectrum disorder (sensory focus), who is looking for a personal assistant to enable him to live an exciting and fulfilling life. This is an employed position. Those with experience of autism spectrum disorder (sensory focus) would be encouraged to apply.
Main Duties:
• To assist with manual handling and transitioning between equipment (he can weight bear and can walk if supported by an adult)
• To support mealtimes (hand over hand feeding textured foods)
• To assist with personal care duties including dressing, toileting and nappy changes
• To have fun and support learning through play – playing with him (reading, drawing, trike, outdoor play, etc.)
• To ensure he is safe while parent undertakes household duties
• Occasional school pick up

• Due to location, ideally car owner with a driving license and with use of own vehicle. Business insurance essential

Hours: 10 hours per week termtime and 14 hours per week during school holidays.
Term time: Ideally looking for a minimum of 2 hours after School on a Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday (timings to be agreed) and 3 – 4 hours (over the weekend)
School Holidays: Monday – Friday minimum 2 hours per day (however, can be flexible)
Pay: £11.50 per hour
