Job summary It is an exciting time to join DHC Outpatients, as we are launching a brand new site in Warlingham Green. We are also getting busier at our other sites and looking to expand our existing team. The role will be mainly based at 3 of our sites; Elizabeth House in Warlingham Green, Oxted Health Centre in Oxted and Holmhurst Medical Centre in Redhill. We also operate out of Dorking Hospital and Epsom Old Cottage Hospital. Travel to the Dorking and Epsom sites would be ad hoc for training and unplanned absence cover. Dorking is our largest site, which means some of your training will likely be carried out there. The ability to drive and have your own means of transportation would be highly beneficial. Our Receptionist/Administrator team undertakes a wide variety of tasks including checking patients in for their appointments, booking appointments, answering telephone queries and processing incoming and outgoing post. The role would suit someone who is good at multitasking, problem solving with an empathetic nature, who has a passion for helping patients and providing excellent customer service. The reception team is currently made up of 9 staff members, the staff work on a rota basis, which includes evenings and some weekends, the shift pattern varies from week to week. Main duties of the job The ideal candidate will have previous patient or customer-facing experience and excellent communication skills. As this is a fast-paced environment, it is necessary to remain calm and maintain a high level of attention to detail. The successful applicant will be able to manage the workload efficiently and effectively on a daily basis in order to facilitate the patient's care as smooth and efficient as possible. We will provide the training necessary to use our in-house IT systems, however, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office would be beneficial. You will be required to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
